As of writing, Thomas Keller has three online cooking courses on Masterclass. Each focused on teaching you how to master different cooking techniques. The courses focus on Vegetables, Pasta, and Eggs; Meats, Stocks, and Sauces; and Seafood, Sous Vide, and Desserts. As Keller explains, recipes are useful, but mastery of techniques will enable you to become an expert chef and turn your hand to anything.
Thomas Keller is an American chef, restaurateur, and the author of many cookbooks. He is the owner of many restaurants and bakeries including “The French Laundry”, “Ad Hoc” and “Per Se”. Three of his establishments hold Michelin Stars; Three at “Per Se”, three at ‘The French Laundry”, and one at “Bouchon”. His accomplishments as an individual chef are no less impressive. He as won the Culinary Institute of America’s “Chef of the Year” award and the James Beard Foundation’s “Outstanding Chef” and “Outstanding Restaurateur” awards.
Ramsay has two online cooking courses currently on Masterclass. Both courses will help you improve the quality of your dishes, both for yourself and your guests. Between the two courses you’ll learn about: Kitchen layout and what utensils to use, Versatile herbs and vegetables, How to use a knife correctly, Methods for working with meats, fish, pastas etc; Recipes, and much more. Gordon Ramsay OBE is a British chef, television personality, restaurateur and writer. As a young man, Gordon trained with some of the world’s leading chefs, these include Albert Roux and Marco Pierre White, Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon. After years of training Gordon went on the own his own restaurant and in a short time earned two Michelin Stars. In total, his restaurants have earned sixteen Michelin Stars, and he currently holds seven.
In this online Masterclass, Wolfgang Puck shares his favourite recipes. Puck has two lessons dealing with his business and culinary philosophy. The beginning of the course will help you train your palate, which will help you learn how to taste. The rest of this course focuses heavily on recipes and making specific meals, so if that’s what you’re after, then this might be the course for you. Wolfgang Johannes Puck is an Austrian-American chef, actor and restauranteur. Over the years Puck has built three companies under his brand: Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, Wolfgang Puck Catering, and Wolfgang Puck Worldwide, Inc. In 2005, “Spago” in Beverly Hills received a James Beard Foundation Outstanding Service Award. Later in 2008 and 2009, it was awarded two Michelin Stars. Two of Puck’s “Cut” branded restaurants have been awarded a Michelin Star in their time.
If wholesome farm-to-table food is your thing, then this course on Masterclasss by Alice Waters might just be for you. The course is a great all-rounder, you’ll learn about; how best to source fresh ingredients; what kitchen utensils and tools you’ll need; Leaves, Herbs, and Aromatics, and Alice’s cooking philosophy. Of course there is also recipes straight from Chez Panisse.
Alice Waters is an American chef, author, activist and restaurateur. She is famed for her farm-to-table approach to cooking and her iconic restaurant Chez Panisse. Her approach and mastery of the style earned her the coveted the James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef. Water in 1995 set up the The Edible Schoolyard program as part of the Chez Panisse Foundation. The program was focused on getting students involved in the growing and preparing of organic food.
